Stem cells from fat. What are they?

Autologous Adult Adipose-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells are found most concentrated in our body fat. 100x more stem cells can be harvested from fat as compared to the next highest concentrated source. Adult stem cells remain dormant until activated by a normal need for more cells, or by disease or tissue injury. Once activated, these cells serve as part of our internal repair and maintenance system and can divide without limit to replenish others.

Are there any moral or religious issues with regards to Adult Adipose-derived Stem Cell procedures?

According to several religious denominations, adult stem cells are not encumbered by any ethical or moral dilemmas. Those ethical issues which apply to fetal and embryonic stem cells do not apply to adult stem cells. Both the Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Church have issued papers which actually encourage research and the use of adult stem cells in the treatment of human disease, as an ethically acceptable alternative to the use of the ethically challenged fetal and embryonic stem cells.

What are fat injections?

Sometimes also called fat transfer, autologous fat grafting or fat grafting refers to the procedure of obtaining one's own fat from the abdomen or other parts of the body and re-implanting it with micro needles into the face. As an injectable filler, your own fat is much better than a synthetic filler since it is your own tissue and lasts longer than any other filler. Your body may absorb the fat too quickly. Fat absorption varies among individuals but up to 50% of fat loss is possible. You may require an additional procedure to add more fat if your body absorbs it too quickly.

What's the difference in fat injections vs an activated stem cell facelift?

Simply transferring fat, which may contain dormant stem cells, into the face will not mean those stem cells will make new cells and rejuvenate the tissue. Stem cells are "locked-within" the surrounding collagen sheath, thus limiting or eliminating their potential to grow. A true stem cell facelift uses a patented process of gently removing the stem cells from the fat, combining the cells with growth factors and activating the stem cells from their dormant state. Once the stem cells are activated they are combined with the patient’s fat and ready to administer for the stem cell facelift. The stem cells are activated utilizing the same process used for therapeutic health issues.

Why is the activated stem cell facelift a better option than a traditional facelift?

The activated stem cell facelift is the latest advancement in youth restoration. These powerhouse cells restore your skin to a youthful appearance from the inside out. Your own stem cells immediately go to work to increase collagen & elastin production, and replace damaged aged cells, without all of the risks of surgery. Lost facial volume is restored and an extra cellular matrix provides facial scaffolding to ensure a long-lasting result. Traditional facelifts stretch the skin which may look unnatural and do not address skin quality or reverse the signs of aging.

+

Does it leave scars?

No. There are no scalpel knives used on the face in the procedure. Specially designed blunt instruments are used to inject the fat and stem cells to sculpt the body areas as desired.

+

Does it make my face look fat?

No. However, initially you may have some swelling which should subside in 3-10 days. The procedure restores the youthful look by restoring the 3-dimensional balance to the face.

+

Do I need to be put to sleep?

No. The procedure is minimally invasive and does not require general anesthesia. For very anxious patients, an oral sedative may be given.

+

Is it safe?

Yes. Since it is your own fat there is no allergic or adverse reaction that can occur from the fat stem cells. Also, since there is no need for general anesthesia, serious risks associated with being put to sleep are eliminated.

+

Is it painful?

Most patients report feeling mild pressure during the injection that is controlled with local anesthesia and some soreness in the areas treated for about 1 to 2 weeks after the procedure that does not require pain medication.

+

How long is the recovery?

You will be able to resume your normal daily life immediately, limited by the degree of swelling that you experience after the procedure. Most patients have noticeable swelling in the areas treated from 3 to 10 days depending on the extent of the procedure and individual healing response.

+

How long will the result last?

The results should last for about 5 to 10 years. The results are affected by your lifestyle, habits and genetics. Smoking and weight fluctuations diminish the results.

+

How will it look over time?

In autologous adult stem cell trials, patients experienced a continued improvement for 18-24 months. You will delightfully look in the mirror watching your appearance become more youthful as days go by.

+

How much does it cost?

The fee for the activated stem cell facial rejuvenation is $7500. This is a fraction of the cost of older, out-dated methods of cosmetic surgery since it does not require general anesthesia and requires less time to perform. Also, the entire face (forehead, around the eyes, nose, cheeks, laugh lines, lips, and chin) can be done all at the same time. The neck, décolleté and hands can also be restored to a more youthful state.

+

Who should perform this procedure?

An American Board Certified licensed physician with specialized experience in stem cell collection, activation and administration of aesthetic procedures. Remember, if the stem cells are not activated properly you are merely receiving fat injections. Very few physicians are trained to administer this procedure in the U.S.
