Re: REGROW Act
Dear [Insert name of Senator or Congressman]:
Your support is urgently needed to accelerate the development of stem cell therapies by supporting the REGROW Act, bill numbers S.2689 and HR.4762.
The Senate bill is currently sponsored by U.S. Senators Mark Kirk (R-IL), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Susan Collins (R-ME). The House bill is currently sponsored by Representatives Mike Coffman (R-CO), Mark Takai (D-HI) and H. Morgan Griffith (R-VA).
Passing the REGROW Act is critical to me because [share why this is important to you: e.g., share your own personal story and elaborate about your experience, observations, concerns, how it's changed your life; describe how stem cell therapy has helped you or a loved one with a particular illness, etc.].
Currently, the FDA regulatory framework applicable to stem cell therapies is based on the same regulatory process used for drugs, vaccines and biologics which hinders the development and advancement of stem cell therapies to better treat patients with unmet clinical needs. According to the Bipartisan Policy Center’s report, “Advancing Medical Innovation for a Healthier America,” countries such as Japan and Europe are ahead of the U.S. in stem cell therapy development and advancement due to regulatory policies that the U.S. has yet to embrace.
Stem cell therapies hold incredible potential for the future of health care in the U.S. and around the world. Through the development of innovative therapies and products, stem cell therapies could one day fully heal damaged tissues and organs, providing needed cures for diseases and conditions that are untreatable today.
I ask you to support the REGROW Act in the development and advancement of accessible, safe and effective stem cell therapies to help those living with diseases and untreatable conditions, which will make a significant difference in the lives of constituents you serve.
Thank you in advance for your commitment and support to advance legislation to accelerate the development of stem cell therapies.
Stem cell therapies hold incredible potential for the future of health care in the United States and around the world. We hope you will join us and participate in this critical journey and share your story about stem cell therapy with your State Senators and Congressmen.
