Parkinson’s and Stem Cells: Tina Shares Before & After Videos of her Journey
In 2012, Tina received devastating news that she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Tina started noticing symptoms back in 2009 with a slight twitch in her left index finger. She went to see her general practitioner and he told her it was only an essential tremor and not to worry about it. He also told her that she would have to wait two years, the standard wait time in Ontario, Canada to see a Movement Disorder Specialist.
As time passed, Tina’s symptoms progressed into a full tremor on the left side of her body. She started experiencing loss of movement in her left arm and developed drop foot in her left leg which left her dragging her left foot and leg when walking. Her body became very stiff and rigid and she suffered daily with constant and debilitating pain.
“Life became very difficult for me. The everyday simple tasks such as brushing my teeth and getting dressed every day became so strenuous.”
“I was offered many Parkinson’s drugs which have horrible side effects. The drugs can be worse than the actual disease. When I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, I chose to not take any Parkinson’s drugs and have been drug free since the beginning.”
After doing a lot of research online, Tina decided to focus on natural therapies such as changing her diet, taking supplements, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and adult adipose-derived stem cell treatment, using her own stem cells to treat the disease.
In 2015, Tina traveled to California to receive stem cell therapy for Parkinson’s.
“The benefits experienced from my first stem treatment were tremendous! Within 48 hours, I immediately started to feel better. My balance and mobility improved and I was able to walk better. The paralysis on the left side of my face went away and my pain decreased significantly. I regained my bladder control, my writing improved and I was able to sleep much better.”
“I have a strong desire to have a second stem cell treatment as soon as possible because the results from the first one were so good! I strongly believe my outcome for recovery would have been even better if I had done stem cell treatment much earlier.
“Just imagine what could be done for people like me if stem cell treatment was offered immediately after being diagnosed and made available through health care coverage.”
Tina’s goal is to completely reverse her Parkinson’s symptoms and pay it forward by sharing her story with others who are suffering with Parkinson’s disease.
These Parkinson’s stories help shed light on just how we can get involved and help patients seek the right treatment for their conditon.
